Footwear refers to garments worn on the feet for fashion, adornment and protection against the environment. They were invented about 40000 years ago and some cultures choose to wear it at least in some certain situations.
Footwear
is sometimes the subject of sexual fetishism, such as shoe fetishism and boot
fetishism. Durable shoes are a relatively recent invention, though many ancient civilizations saw no need for footwear. The Romans saw clothing and footwear as
signs of power and status in society.
The
middle ages saw the rise of high-heeled shoes also associated with power and
the desire to look larger than life, and artwork from that period often depicts
bare feet as a symbol of poverty. Currently, women see footwear as a form of
decoration and fashion.
Again,
the design of footwear has varied enormously through time and from culture to
culture. Contemporary footwear varies widely in style, complexity and cost. It
comes in various categories such as high-heels, bellies, wedges, sandals,
shoes, flat slippers, heel slippers and many more.
However,
ladies of this modern generation (21st century) always try to put on
a particular footwear that match the kind of dress they want to put on whether
in colour, same pattern, or fit that occasion they are attending. They often
call this combination.
